Questions about our ministry?

Below you'll find our most Frequently Asked Questions, where we hope you'll find some answers.

  • What is Paint by Faith's vision for meeting its goals?
John 15:5 says that Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches; we can only bear fruit if we abide in Him, and can do nothing apart from Him. We are motivated by God's vision and His goals, not our own. We seek Him, His kingdom and His righteousness first, and surrender the results of that searching to Him. We've begun teaching weekly beginner studio art courses in our youth center building at the Fayetteville Town Center and have been diligently working with our congregation to build Tuesday night youth workshops for the community. Our prayers are that the spirit of God will inspire them to use the artistic skills they learn to do good in the community. We pray that churches all over the world will become more willing to help young artists discover and develop their creative talents, and that God inspired creativity will be more prevalent in communities across the nation. If enough support is raised through this ministry, we would welcome the opportunities to paint community murals and sponsor students to join us on mission projects around the world.
  • Does Paint by Faith have a studio art curriculum?
Yes! Our curriculum is formatted to be scalable based on a variety of criteria, whether it's for intensive academic training or fun community activities. Much of what we're prepared to teach is comparable to a 2 year studio art college programs. High school and middle school students would benefit from this curriculum most, but some elementary students have benefitted as well.
  • What is Paint by Faith's goal?
To provide free studio art training to local students and point them to God. As a studio artist who started his academic career before coming to Christ, our founder experienced first hand the darkness, confusion and vanity that is inherit in the worldly-ness of contemporary art culture. We understand that if teachers are not prepared to guide young artists in developing their gifts for good, we will lose many young artists to drug abuse, destructive self-indulgent ideology, sexual idolatry and all manner of mental illness, all of which are rampant in the contemporary art world. Paint by Faith's mission is to build a space where the youth can develop artistic talent and use those talents for the good of the community - we pray that this will spark God inspired art across our city.
  • What are "Tuesday Night Workshops"?
Tuesday Night Workshops are traditional studio art classes that teach the fundamentals of various studio disciplines, including drawing, painting, illustrating, and sculpting. These classes are geared for the youth (8-18). These classes are held on Tuesday nights from 4-5:30pm. You can register here (seats are limited to 15 students and are available at a first come, first serve basis).
