It's been a week of listening and adjusting.
I've been praying this week over the direction of this ministry and asking the Lord 'where are you working?'. Getting caught up in the buzz is not a good place to be when it comes to diligently seeking the Lord, and there have been days, maybe even weeks, where I've overlooked the heart of God and thought more about the success of the ministry then the people the Lord wants to bless through us.
We attended an amazing Gen Z conference hosted by Impact 360 where ministers spoke about many of the issues facing generation Z youth and how to effectively lead them towards the solution: Jesus (you can find out more at https://www.whoisgenz.com/). Their approach, their perspective and their love for the generation coming up really left an impression on us, and it lead me to spend some time focusing on the direction and goal of this ministry. Our ministry started with youth, the Lord has consistently lead me to youth leadership roles in the church, our parent ministry (Vision 2 Hear) is mainly a youth ministry, and one of the surprising things covered in the conference was the fact that the youth and share the gospel a lot more effectively than most adults can.
Last week I felt convicted to spend time really observing where the Lord is working around us, and we can see He is really working on healing and strengthening the youth. We're living in a time where it's so difficult for the youth to even grasp what the truth is. They are the first generation that has been born into pocket sized smart technology, and many times they turn to technology because authority has failed them. There is so much trauma and confusion in Gen Z, but they do have a desire to find truth and interrupt the culture.
We've been building up towards launching a full youth ministry in our home church for most of this year. Discipleship has been a big focus for the adults as we anticipate an influx of around 30 youth, Lord willing, to start attending our youth services. We see the Lord working in this, so that is where I've felt convicted on focus our attention. I feel the Lord wants to use us as a part our home church youth ministry.
As far as our community murals go, we're nearly done with the EpicEnter logo! We've also heard back from a school who's interested in having us work with them for their VBS camp next summer - we're excited for a potential new partnership!
As always, we appreciate your prayers and ask you to continue praying for us.
